Hey guys!

Im Canadian but from 2014-2016 I lived in the uk with the Tier 5 (Youth mobility scheme) visa. I went back to canada when it expired in January 2016 and stayed for a year. In February 2017 I went back to England to visit my boyfriend and visit friends and travel a bit! So i entered the UK with no visa and got stamped leave to remain for 6 months (end of August 2017). I ended up staying the entire 6 months and came back at the end of august 2017. I spoke briefly to a uk visa specialist who said I'd be able to return to the UK at the one year anniversary of when I got that first 6 month stamp.

BUT at the beginning of August before i came back to Canada my boyfriend and I went on a weekend trip to Amsterdam. When i came back to the uk after amsterdam i got another 6 month stamp but they made it clear I couldn't actually stay another six months.

SO basically my concern is that I'm going to try and go back to the UK in march and i'm not gonna get in because of that second leave to remain stamp in august??

I hope this makes sense. Does anyone have any experience with this??

Thanks in advance!!:)

The prolonged stays probably will get the interest of the Entry Officer at the Airport. They do not like such stays, but the fact that they allowed you entry (and didn't put you on any coded landings as far as you are aware), and the fact you're from a Commonwealth country probably helps a bit. We got a very hostile entry officer when my wife re-entered UK mid-way through a 6 month Tourist Visa when she extended her stay up until around the visa expiry, but depends on who you get at Immigration.

My recommendation, if this is possible, would be to be pay the $119 USD and get a tourist visa for the UK while you're in Canada. This means you won't have the dread of getting through immigration in the UK. Definitely look into this option.
