Hi, everyone.

I'm having a lot of trouble finding this information on the internet, so I thought I'd ask here. Does anyone know if the 1 year French long stay visa (from Australia, if that makes any difference) allows for multiple entries into France from countries NOT in the Schengen region?

It allows movement freely between France and other Schengen countries, it seems, but if I left France for England for a short visit would I be permitted to return? And if this isn't allowed on the long stay visa, is there a visa that allows this?

On a long-stay visa, you can leave France to go where you like - as long as you have the appropriate travel documents for that other country. And yes, you would be allowed to return.

If you go to England for a visit, you'll need whatever visa or entry documents you would need if you were entering from your home country.
