Am moving to Perth in February from London. The move is as you all know expensive and just wanted to find out from people already there if I need a car straight away or are there good transport links.
Thanks

Hi Alissa,

Good links from where and to where?

Not sure if you've seen the Perth transport website but that may be able to help

Hi,

I have been in Perth around since Feb 09 and although I went in for a car almost straight away..... I would say that public transport system is OK, depending on where you are located...I booked into one of the many caravan parks for the first week whilst we looked for a house, and had to rely on public transport..it was not a good experience, during the week was fine and I was able to get a bus to work, however weekends were not so good, buses seemed to stop running early Saturday afternoon and did not run at all on a Sunday....But where I live now in Swan View busses are very frequent. I fwe want to go into Perth on the weekend we always take the train as parking in town is very expensive.

as suggested check out the Transperth website for more info....hope that helps

Regards

Colin.....
