I have a question for those with minor children who hold UK passports already...

This may seem like a totally stupid question, but on the passport application, right under the box for the parent's signature, it says to state relationship to the child. Does that go inside the box with the signature, next to box, under the box? There's no line to write on so I'm not sure where I would write "Mother". For US passports, I believe you print the child's name, sign your own and then in parentheses write mother or father, all within the box, so I wasn't sure what to do on this one...

If you are using the form OL at http://centralcontent.fco.gov.uk/resources/en/pdf/central-content-pdfs/5619320/smart-form.pdf, in Section 8, just put your signature neatly within the box edged in green, taking care it doesn't touch the green section in any way, and then write UNDER the box 'Mother'. Nothing but a signature should ever go inside the box. It will be scanned and electronically captured.
