Hi, I am new to the forum and wonder if anyone is able to give me any guidance re teaching English as a foreign language in and around Lyon.

I hold a UK teaching degree and TEFL Certificate. To hold private lessons in my own home would I need any kind of licence?

Thank you in advance.

If you want to, you could teach English under the AE (auto entrepreneur) scheme, which is a highly simplified business entity. Portail officiel des auto-entrepreneurs

There's no license required for teaching out of your home - however, if you want to attract a business clientele, you may want to look into registering as a "continuing education" provider. This gives you a registration number that your business clients can use to count training you give them toward their training obligation during the year. You would need to contact your Service Regionale de la Formation Continue - or something to that effect.
