Subclass 176, family sponsored, Priority 5

I have applied for Migration to Australia; I need a few clarifications.my complete Profile with details

My age is 34 years old, I am married with 2 kid, I am an Indian, working in Middle East as a Computer Engineer (System Engineer).

I had applied for ACS in April 2007 and have been classified as Systems Manager (ASCO: 2231-11).
On November 21st 2007 i had applied for VISA via paper procedure (not online) through the Migration Agent, for the subclass 176 (skilled sponsored Visa, as my family members are in Melbourne).
On Feb 16th 2008 i had submitted IELTS result to the agent. i have scored IELTS overall 6.0 ( Reading 6.0, Speaking 6.0, Listening 6.5, writing 6.5).
From then till January 2009 my application was in processing and waiting for case officer to allocate.

any members in this forum who have applied for visa & waiting same like me?
any information regarding when these application will be picked up for processing?

Hey , I applied go my 176 family sponsored visa in oct 2010 . My visa was granted in aug 2011 . I just entered Australia in jan 2012 . so all in all took 10 months . It was an online application not sure if that makes a difference .

I am waiting since August 2007. Sponsored by my brother in Melbourne. There are many more like me. As DIAC has mentioned in their website that they will process 495 and 496 first and then will shift to remaining. But that will happen once all the cate gory 4 applicants will be finished...

Any update on your case, did you get your grant?

I know it's been a long time since someone posted on this thread, but now that there is hope for some FS Cat5ers to be processed before July, it will be great for those seeing any movement in their application to please post an update so that others get to know when to expect some good news for their application,
