My question is related to Question 43 of Form 1276. My wife is a secondary applicant. we got married in 2005 and before that she used to travel to KSA as her Parents live there. she had stayed in KSA for about 11 months in total in period from 2002 to 2005. some time 2 months, some time 4 months, etc. she was resident of India in that period.

after marriage, she came to Qatar. we both used to travel to KSA, some times for a week or 2. in 2010 after birth of our first child she went to KSA for about 3 months on visit visa to stay with her Parents. this way, her total stay is more than 12 months in KSA.

my question is, do I have to show her stay in KSA as permanant and fill the details accordingly, like each visit to be mentioned? or I can show her travel to KSA in Form 80 in countries visited section?

As per the immi.gov.au website its mentioned as follows for applicants outside oz.

Meeting the character requirement for temporary and permanent migration

For the Australian Government to determine whether you are of good character, you may be asked to provide police certificates for each country you have lived in for 12 months or more over the last ten (10) years since turning 16.

If you are applying outside Australia, you do not have to provide this information when you apply. You will be advised when it is required.

If you are applying in Australia, you should provide this information with your application.

Does the above means that I dont need to fill the details in Question 43 of form 1276? They may ask for PCC if CO thinks that it is required?

Just put down every country she has lived in or visited and for what period. Fill in every question on the forms. If the CO wants PCC they will ask for it regardless of if it was a temp or permenant stay.

Thanks shel for your reply. Is it OK to put 2002-2005 as resident of India and from 2006-2012 as resident of Qatar in Form 1276 and mention all her visits to KSA as visits in Form 80?

If she was resident in another country put it down as residence. ie if she went for more than a short holiday then she was resident. 2 weeks is holiday/visit, 3 months + is not really.

Okay. that means I don't need to really put her short visits in Form 1276 even though her visits were to the country where she was resident for more than 12 months in total. like we used to travel for 2-15 days from 2006 onwards. in fact we were in KSA for 3 hrs at one when we traveled by car to UAE. this entry we cant mention in Form 1276 as we were not having any permanent address.

also, after 2006 she is resident of Qatar and we used to travel to India for about a month on annual vacation. she being resident of India before marriage, do i have to put those details also in form 1276 or form 80?

It makes absolutely no difference where you think you should put them in residence or trips out of the country. Put them all down wherevever you feel appropriate, If your CO wants a PCC you will be asked for one and will have to get it, simples.

Thanks. clear now.

1 more question. In Qatar, we don't use residential address for communication. every mail is delivered to PO Boxes. as per the new form 80, i must attach a photocopy of any mail communication as a proof of my address. how can i get that when I don't have anything delivered to my residential address?

In qatar you'll still have lease/ rent contracts, rental cheques and etc. all of which should indicate the address and show as a proof. DIAC is well aware of that.
Oh Yeah! I forgot about that. I checked my Rent Contract and its in Arabic. I think, need to get translated to English. or will rent receipt do? those are in Arabic/English.

In relation to my earlier post, my wife was unable to obtain PCC as Saudi embassy in Qatar no longer issues PCC for ex-residents. My agent is asking me to submit a statutory declaration about it witnessed by Australian high commission consular. Next is there's no Australian commission in Qatar. Nearest one is in UAE. has anyone in this has submitted something like this?
