Being through the process once with my daughter and im about to go through it again this year with my son i would say that this is spot on.

Earlier the better. Both mine went to nursery School, then primary when aged three and it brings them on great. This was in England and English speaking countries but the principle would be the same in Spain, the child learns some discipline, routine, gets to socialise and gets a head start in education.

My daughter went to a local Guarderia from the age of 4 Monthsm where 1 of the carers spoke Valenciano, and the other Castillian with No English at all being spoken.
It put her at a massive advantage when she started local school aged 3 and I believe she speaks all 3 languages equally.
