Hello all, my wife and I (I'm a citizen of the US - she is not) are currently going through the onerous steps of keeping her here. As such, she does not currently have a Social security number. She can not work currently without the permit of course, but is she able to go to school? I am unsure of the laws around this?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you very much

What sort of a visa is she on? Or on what sort of visa did she enter the country? If eligible, she needs to apply for an adjustment of status.
Cheers,
Bev

Congratulations!
Her marital status has no bearing on your wife's legal status in the US until she has her GC either in hand or the temporary stamp in her passport. To study she has to go through all steps a foreign student goes. See uscis.gov or travel.state.gov for details.
