Things you don't need:

Copy of university degree diploma
Letter from US employer advising continued employment whilst in UK
The applicant's education is of no interest and the possibility for employment is irrelevant. Leave these things out. (As I believe I already mentioned.)

SU07/12 form
Not required. It's for adult dependents like parents.

Employer mortgage letter
What is this and why do you think you need it?

Passport stamps and flight booking information
Email communication printouts
Other communication ( iMessage printouts??)
All irrelevant. As I have already mentioned since you are married you need to prove that you live together. Not that you travel together or email each other.

Things you need:

Land registry
Mortgage statement
You can use either of these. You should also include a council tax or other bill in your father's name.

You should also include a letter or contract from your UK employer confirming that you will be continuing your job when you return to the UK.

You don't need the degree, copy of passport, or the letter of employment for the applicant.

Sponsor Information
Contains:
• SU07/12 form
• Sponsor’s letter of introduction
• Copy of sponsor’s passport bio-data page
• Appendix 2
You shouldn't need the SU07/12 form.

Financial Information – Category A
Contains:
• Employer letter
• Employer mortgage letter
• Copy of employment contract

• Sponsors UK bank statements x 6 (HSBC)

I am not sure about the financial bit since generally its only the sponsor's payslips and bank information they require. Might ask a mod on this. And I am not sure what you mean by employer mortgage letter? Is your place of living done through your employer?

Accommodation Information
Contains:
• Letter from sponsors father
• Property Inspection Report (original)
• Land registry
• Mortgage statement
You don't need all of those forms. Just a letter from the sponsor's father, property inspection report and land registry. I don't believe you need a mortgage statement, but I am sure someone more educated on this will chime in to help.

Relationship/Marriage Information
Contains:
• Marriage certificate + copy
• Passport stamps and flight booking information
• Email communication printouts
• Annotated photos x 10
• Other communication ( iMessage printouts??)
You don't need the passport stamps copies, just the flight booking info will do. Keep the communication logs to one or two pages for every 6 month span.

Property inspection and land registry are 2 completely different things. The land registry proves who owns the property and a property inspection proves there will be no over crowding. You need both.

Thanks all for the advice. I am on an iPad so having issues with the multiple quoting so will try to address your points in one blurb.

- I will leave out the education and employment stuff. My thinking with the employment is that there is a question about "what will you do for work once in the UK?" So just trying to back that bit up

- the mortgage letter confirms my salary and employment date etc. it's an automated form from our HR department.

- I'll leave out the su7

- I have complicated financials/stubs so got a separate letter from HR director confirming their validity.

- the inspection report is in the post (chartered surveyor did it)

- I just have a land registry print out (£3 one), is that sufficient?

- mortgage statements are here now.

- I have access to the online council tax statement website for my parents place. Shall I print a copy?

Oh and last thing: living together...I have found a recent credit card bill in my name addressed to our home. Is that sufficient? I suppose I could go to Chase and get them to print a credit card statement addressed here and stamp it?

Utilities etc are not in joint names unfortunately.

1 credit card bill is not going to be sufficient. You need proof through the whole time that you've lived together. This can be through things in joint names or addressed separately but to the same address. Preferably things like tenancy agreements, utilities, bank statements and other official documentation like things from the DMV, doctor's office, IRS. Credit card statements aren't the best evidence.

Thanks for the details. In terms of official documents, our marriage license lists our address if that helps at all?

I am in the process of adding names to the electricity and cable accounts. I suppose once those appear online I can print a statement and get it notarised as authentic...

The £3 land registry is sufficient. Many forum members have used it successfully. However, other than that, documents need to be originals. That includes the council tax bill, electric, cable etc. For them to be authenticated you would have to have the council, electric company, cable company etc. verify them as original.

ok thanks. well the online portion of the application is complete (biometrics apt is first week of August) between now and then I will be able to get 2xutilities bills with both our names on. I hope that will be okay? I know for financial docs there might be issues submitting anything dated *after* the application start date.

Thanks,

Tom

Update: I haven't been able to get a copy of my parents council tax statement (mainly due to crappy online bureaucracy) but I have now got a receipt for a holding deposit for a flat in both of our names, which I will include.

I have also got the 2xutilities bills in both our names to add.
