Hi, I'm in Australia on a student visa which expires on the 15th. I married an Australian and am currently getting everything together to submit for my spouse visa however I am missing my background checks for the states and here.

Has anyone ever turned in an incomplete visa application and been okayed to submit the missing paperwork at a later date? I'm a full-time mother to my stepchildren so I'm panicking a bit about having my visa expire.

Hi,

Order both documents asap, check if you can pay for them to arrive faster.
You will need them to have a sucessful application.

But in the mean time you can lodge your application, bear in mind your officer will contact you VERY SOON to ask for the remaining 2 missing documents.

Police checks are compulsory and you won't have a visa without them.
In fact when there are minors involved both applicant and sponsor have to supply police checks.
