Hi guys,

I'm from the UK, getting married to a US citizen in California. He's then applying for the UK spousal visa and moving to the UK to be with me.

My question: I would like to change my name when we get married, and in California that means applying for the marriage license with my new married name. This means that all my documentation as the visa sponsor (payslips, P60, rental agreements etc) will be in my previous name, and the marriage documentation the new name.

Is this going to be a problem for the visa application? If so, is it advisable to retain my current name until after my new husband has his visa and is in the UK?

Thanks for your help.
