Hi Freinds,

I have a question regarding Subclass 176 - for sponsoring relative.

Can I sponsor my brother's wife as primary applicant on 176 application.

My brother is in Marketing & his wife is Accountant with 10+ yrs of experience. She also got good IELTS score. I already got PR & thinking of sponsoring them next year.

So pls advice.

Thanks

Hi Eva:

No you can't. However you can sponsor your brother as a primary applicant, then when he applies on his application his wife also goes on that application as the secondary applicant (spouse of primary applicant)..

Yes you can!

incase your brother's wife is the primary applicant and your brother is a secondary applicant, you CAN be an eligible sponsor.

please visit the diac website where it is clearly mentioned.

i hope this helps.

Yes, you can be the sponsor with your brother's wife as primary applicant. Please see this site:

Skilled – Sponsored (Migrant) Visa (Subclass 176)

It states :

"You or your partner must be related to your sponsor as one of the following:

* a non-dependent child – including a stepchild
* a parent – including a step–parent
* a brother or sister – including a step-sibling
* a niece or nephew – including a step–niece or nephew
* an aunt or uncle – including a step–aunt or uncle

"
"You or your partner" refers to your brother & wife, not you.
