We are applying for my husband's spouse visa for UK next week and I am just reading on other threads that the passport of the sponsor has to be certified. It says nothing about it needing to be certified on the UKBA official list of documents. Can you please advise if this is really necessary?
Thanks

If it's a British passport, no certification necessary. But if it's another passport (e.g. because the sponsor has ILR in UK), then yes, the copy has to be certified by the embassy or the passport issuing office. The reason being with British passport UKVI can verify details on the passport database, but they have no such access for non-UK passports.
