Does anyone have any experience of home support? My parents have lived in the Lot for 18 yrs.Mother is 92 and in the middle stages of Alzheimers. My father cares for her and has 4hrs help a week via APPa with housework. I am finding it very difficult to find out whether should she need it home nursing support will be available, what level of support home nursing would offer, how much we would have to contribute (my parents have no assets other than their house and the basic British state pension) whether as in GB people with Dementia are cared for in any nursing home, or whether they have to go into specialist units. Is there anywhere I can access this information? So far I have been told that until I make a formal application, for instance for residential care, with all their financial details no one can tell me anything. There does not seem to be anywhere that I can find out the general principles of care and support. Any help with information would be gratefully received. Rose Jones
