My wife in Japan just applied online last night for her settlement visa. Printed off the application form, and even though we went through it before paying, realised there is a slight mistake. On the sponsors nationality, mine, it should be British ...for some reason we had put United Kingdom. On the printed forms we have amended next to it to say British; is this a potential problem? I feel stupid for not catching it before she paid and applied.

I'm hoping so. It's not a huge mistake I know, but it's slightly annoying after all this time meticulously preparing to apply! I've just been reading about other people who were in a similar situation; they wrote on the printed copy, and left a cover note explaining the amendment and everything was ok. So I'll do the same. I'm sure (hoping) the ECO is smart enough to compare my passport page to the info!
