Hi Guys,

Just wanted to know about a Sim card for Syndey.

1} Can I get a prepaid card at the international airport ?

2} I am planning to get a data package so I can use skype - is this a good idea ?

3} How are the 3g connections there ?

4} Can it be activated at the shop itself ? and what are the documents required for this ?

Thank you

Hey,

1) When you come out from the customs gate , on your right you will find stores for optus and vodafone. You can get a prepaid sim from there.

2) Data package are available in several formats

3) 3 g connection is allright in most of the places

4) Possibly. They will require proof of id (e.g passport). My guess as in the int'l airport they are lot easier to start up a sim.

5) My recommendation: buy a lebara or lyca sim card. with national mega plan you will get unlimited national and 2 gb data. which I hardly finish. Much cheaper and effective sim for new migrants.

hope i was bit help:D
