signed for letter from France

Hi,my father has just rang me and informs me he has just received a letter from France addressed to me which he signed for.He then had to take a letter attached to it,to the post office and sign again for it.He tells me the original letter has been mislaid by the home help, so I don't know what the letter was for.

I can only guess it is either for my septic tank inspection which I have been ignoring or about maintenance for 2 children I conceived in France with my English girlfriend 14 years ago, whom I have not seen for 12 years.

I know this is a strange request but any comments on the above will be appreciated.
Thanks in anticipation,
Paul

Where did your dad receive this letter?

Not really sure what kind of feedback you are looking for. But I'm going with maintenance for 10 points. ;)

Your dad should have sent it back unclaimed, since I'm guessing you don't live there & especially since he now lost it.

Thanks Mia ,I would go with you on it more likely to be maintenance, now thinking about it.My father lives in the UK.
I have rang my father again and he tells me he has now found the package and he hadn't sent it back because there was no return address on it.He tells me it has 4 of 1.5 euro stamps on it.

I'm thinking of getting him to open it to get the address, putting a note in saying "signed for in error" and getting him to sign this, which will be the same signature as the paper he signed for in the post office. Then put some stamps on it and post it back.
Thanks again Mia,any further comments will be appreciated by anyone.
I'm sort of curious now. I need to know what the letter is about.... ;)

Really, you should just have him send you the post. You'll need to deal with it eventually.

Let us know cuz I'm curious like that! :D

I'll let you know when I see it,I'm much happier now it hasn't been lost.

The letter was for the septic tank 100 Euro including 50 Euro penalty.I guess this must be a common.
