shippers coming tomorrow

Hi Everyone

Just a little update! the shippers are coming tomorrow. Thought it was best to be without this end and not have to wait too long when we arrive in oz. My son is in termoil already about his ps3, however i have told him he won't be doing much of the finger flipping thing when we get there!! For information we have paid £2500 for 580 cubic square feet.

Also just to let you know, we have a holiday let for 1 week, fully furnished in Redcliffe and a long term rental to move into the week after, so things are finally slotting into place. Also the house completes on the 27th November, looks like its mean't to be and can't wait to be over there now!

Congratulations Ellisa. You must be very excited.

That's great having your accommodation organised. Did your employer organise it for you? Thats a major concern sorted!

Good luck ellisa,

Just keep plying the removal chaps with tea and biccies and it'll be fine.

Are you taking your son's PS3 with you? We packed a PS2 plus a few games in one of our suitcases (thank goodness for the excess baggage allowance :lol: ). They also kept their gameboys in their carry on luggage.

Hiya Ellissa,

Congrats and best of luck with the removals.... it must be exciting as well as scared. Who did you use as its costing us £2,400 for 470 cubic feet but this covers the custom fees and inspection. We're using crown and have provisionally booked them for end of Oct as hoping by then to have got some confirmation on our Visa.

When do you fly and who with.... keep us posted as we're all sharing your excitement.

Hi ae, thanks alot!!! i organised it all myself! however my employer is reimbursing $15,000 so thats pretty good eh, thanks ellisa

Hi Dolly, My son is distraught!!! is the ps3 safe when carrying in the luggage? The removals came today to do some packing and i can't get over how fast they are!!! its like the 60 minute make over! thanks ellisa

Hi richie, The rental is a 3 bed room villa in a complex with gym, pool etc recommended to me by my cousin who's in brissie. I just emailed them and then mailed them my proofs etc and hey they okayed it. If anyone else is going to brisbane, its belmont villas and you can get them up on the website! Thanks ellisa

Hi Ellisa:

It will be fine, you pack it in the middle of the suitcase and bundle clothes around it. You can also bubble wrap it and then wrap clothes around it.

I've brought in game machines, computers, laser printer, etc. through luggage. The main thing is to pack so the baggage can be dropped 1.5 meters (i.e. from baggage carousel to truck).

We used pss and that initially was for 540 cubic/feet, but i got a few quotes and got them for the same price as 580 cubic/feet, you just need to bartar!!!! I got 5 quotes an they turned out the best in price etc.

We fly out on 6th dec from birmingham with emirates, i'm so excited but feel sick when i think of my mum and sister. Good luck with everything and if i can help with anything just let me know, ellisa

amaslam, just the message i was looking for!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have bubble/wrap etc!!!! i trust in my fellow man!! and he can keep the ps3!! thanks ellisaxx

We wrapped it in clothes and put it in the middle of the suitcase (we have hard suitcases, not material, so I'm sure that helped). We just kept our fingers crossed it would be OK the other end as we all know how baggage is treated when it leaves your possession at check in!

He could always put it in a rucksack and carry it with him. Try anything for him to be able to have it with him for when you get this side.
