you can try Postal service, I am not sure how it is in PK but my folks back in India often send stuff by Indian post. You can ask your family to try sending you some stuff and if it reaches on time and in one piece, i suggest postal service, it is the cheapest form that side of the world to Australia

Dear Faisal;

Though its cheaper,do you've the risk appetite to bear the loss of books in transit? If not please do avoid Postal Services of ours country.I have myself experience of lost items sent through them outside of country.

Thanks.

Hi Hassan,

The estimate weight may be b/t 15-20 kgs or less. It's just only my engineering and networking books.

I'd suggest you to please check with any travelling agent they are well placed to strike a thrifty deal for you.

Thanks.

I am copying my post from another FORUM for your reference. Lets hope it will help you. Please note i m really not sure whether these companies will accept BOOKS or not, Just a query, Your Books are original or Pirated Version? If pirated then Not sure Australian border Security will allow it to enter in Australia or not. looks like u need to research on these things. as far as Rates are concerned so Read my post.

Regards,

Dear All

As per my previous post regarding to booking through IOM, Let me continue assuming that you are able to secure 40Kg Luggage and 7 Kg hand Carry limit through IOM or any other Airline operator. As per my info. Thai can offer you extra 20Kg luggage if you have got PR visa but u need to get its approval from them. If you need to carry extra luggage or you want to CARGO it through Pakistan Post,DHL, Gerrys or TCS then I have got some rates from them. Please note Price vary according to dollar Rate J

Pakistan Post.

Rs. 8000 Fix plus 300 for additional per KG. (Delivery Time = 10-15 working Days)

TCS.

Rs. 17300 for 10 Kg Box. (Delivery time = 7-10 working days)

Gerrys or FEDEX.

Rs. 17000 for 10 Kg Box (Delivery Time = 3-4 working Days)

DHL.

Rs. 14300 for 10Kg Box and 25000 for 25Kg Box (Delivery time = 3-4 working Days)
Please Manage your luggage within allotted limit or else it will cause delays as well as mental stress on Airport. Try to carry 1-2 Kg Less than your limit.

Important note If booking through IOM.

Some times Emirates guys insist that Laptop is included in your hand carry and they will weigh your hand carry by including Laptop weight. As this is unusual in most cases. So be careful. In my case, they didn’t even bother to check my hand carry weight.

Good luck

Excellent post!! Kudos to you!!

As far as pirated books are concerned,I think if they're for personal use, there shouldn't be any problem with that-even then it needs to be confirmed from the authorities concerned.I did bring pirated books to UAE - and did confirm from some experienced travelers before traveling;they told me that in case of any pirated software loaded unto laptop there is problem,in case of pirated books for personal use, they're not even questioned.

It needs to be confirmed in either case.

Thanks.
