Hi

I am from India and i am waiting for my state sponsorship. Meanwhile, I am planning to prepare all documents necessary for 176 visa.

I currently stay in Bangalore and I hold an indian passport. But the address mentioned in my passport is my home town address. The same is the case with my wife. Do I need to change my passport address to Bangalore address before applying for 176.

There is no need to change the address unless some situation warrants you to do so. but you have to check if you have spouse name included in your passports because if you have kid without passport then at least one of your passports must have spouse name endorsed else no reissue is required. check with the ORR or Lalbagh PSK in person whether they will give you a PCC with current address in Bangalore for both you with current passport address. ask clearly about the docs required
