Hi there,

Welcome to the forum.

They will be in Year 12 so between 17 and 18.

thanks for that. I'm pleased I joined this site as it is going to be so useful. My eldest daughter is 10 and I have been concerned about how moving would affect her education, as were not planning to move for 2-2 1/2 years. (doing alot of planning and research at the moment). Here in the Uk they do their school leaving exams at 15 /16 then have the option of staying on or going to college before uni. . She'll be pleased when I tell her her school years will be extended, lol.

Thanks again

Kids can leave school before year 12 though since some don't get their year 12 certificate (an issue in regional areas that I've heard about recently).

Yep, if your child wants to do an apprenticeship or 'drops out' then they can leave at 16. Most kids stay on to get their certificate though.
