It has just occurred to me duhhhh!

My son started work on 4rd August and fell short of the required £1550 by about £30. Every other month he has earned over the £1550 so am I right in saying he could make up the August amount by showing savings? or is the minimum amount £16 000?

He would need £16,075 held for 6 months.

Awwwwwwww thanks for that Nyclon.

Can you please explain the salaried and non salaried in more depth?
He has a set wage every month but his hours and not fixed as he works all hours, there is no pattern but more like on demand..

Thanks

So he is in a non-salaried job and average pay over 6 months is annualised to get the annual gross income. Make sure this is shown in the employment letter by quoting his hourly pay plus the set basic salary.

Thanks Joppa, he is not paid hourly but a set amount, however the hours are not fixed, so regardless of how many hours he works in a day or what time of day/night he gets the same at the month end...

Then he's in a salaried position and he needs to have earned £1550/month. His hours are irrelevant.

I got it now. His August pay slip is lower because he only started work on 4th. In that case submit payslips from September onwards.
