Well the day I thought would never come finally came today! Said all our goodbyes to our family which was as bad as I thought it was! But now at airport hotel - decided to book in night before so less traumatic on day of flight! Having a few drinks in our room - am very excited but the goodbyes have meant that today was quite a sad day! but am sure this is quite normal - it seemed to hit me all at once today ! Anyway 2pm tomorrow we will be on our way - will keep you updated with how we get on.

Hi Gina, I just want to wish you all the best for your new life in oz. I am booking my tickets tomorrow for December, so not too far behind you. Do keep in touch with how your getting on, have a safe journey over and enjoy it!!!!!ellisax
Hi Gina,

Have a safe journey to your new home.
:plane::plane:

Thank you for all the links you've sent to help my daughter adjust to the idea of moving to Australia, they did wonders and she says she can't wait to go.
I know things will be different once she needs to say goodbye to her friends, but at least now she thinks there is grass on the other side.
Thank you.:ranger:

Hope you have an easy time settling in.:)

Keep us posted.

All the best,
Busyte

Leaving is a sad day but it's only a temporary goodbye since you'll hear from them over the phone or see them on skype. Even my Dad and my husband cried when we left which is why I don't advise people saying goodbye at the airport itself since I would have found it too traumatic.

My parents had some of the family round there place last week and we arranged it so that I'd be around and so I saw and spoke to some family I hadn't seen in over 2 years (since they don't have internet access). The call wasn't long enough but we're meeting up with some of them next year.

Safe trip and let us know how you settle in.

Regards,
Karen
Have a good trip, here's my tips for the enormous jet lag when you're in Oz.

1. It'll take 1-2 weeks to fully get over it, the first 3 days are the worst.
2. Drink lots of water and make sure you take a walk each day
3. Get a massage when you get here as sitting in a seat for 20+ hours definitely introduces some aches and pains (the ones in the shopping centres are fine).

Weather has been good these days 18-mid 20s in a lot of places and higher in the Northern parts of AU.

Well Gina,

You'll be on your way by now. The hardest part is behind you now....those final goodbyes are just gruesome.

Next time you post you'll have made it to the other side of the world!

Good luck
Dolly
