s56 Request Confusion: Claimed Partner Competent English but Asked for Functional English

I’ve received an s56 request from the Department asking for evidence of my partner’s Functional English for our 189 visa application.

However, I have already claimed partner points for Competent English, and my partner’s PTE score is still valid (less than two years old at the time of invitation).

Has anyone else received an s56 request for Functional English even though they claimed partner points for Competent English?

From my understanding, Functional English evidence is only required if no partner English points were claimed.

How should I respond to this s56 request in this case?

189 application lodged on 14th Dec 2024.

Another 190 applicant and I received the same S56 asking for prove of functional english for our spouse, even though we've already provided valid evidence of competent english. On the IMMI website, it's stated that for functional english the validity period is only 1 year but for others it's 3 years. I've checked this confusion with my agent, he said what IMMI officer accept is only the evidence of functional english for the partner, and this has nothing to do with the claimed point. We both arranged new test for our partners and uploaded the documents
