Enjoy your six nations. Great rugby! Enjoyed watching it, but our attention now shifting elsewhere, with the super 15. My team (The Sharks) not doing so great, and the "enemy" back home (The Stormers) is in front on the log, but still early days. The Sharks tend to start slow...from this week the Southern Hemisphere Tri-nations teams (Australia New Zealand and South Africa gets to the nitty gritty of the competition with the Chiefs and the Reds looking hot! Is going to be one hell of a tournament! Would love to see a Super 15 team taking on Wales, or Ireland, or Scotland, that would be quite a game!:D

Hi to all,
as I am a former rugby player and Italian national too, I would like to say that we have beaten Scotland, even they were better prepared and trained than us.
Hey Pal E! (I worked in Edinburgh for a while........ :)
Next time !
You sould not classify your self as a former rugby player, you are always a rugby player, just maybe having a break.....if you are interested in playing for a vets team or helping out coaching, or even just supporting the local Cairo team I can send you the details

Hi Lanason, A super 15 team is hardly a club team. A super 15 team is, in geographical size a regional team. In South Africa that means larger than a province, in Aussie it means larger than a state. They are quite capable of beating any six nations team. Let me give you an example: The current Sharks team has 12 Springboks in it! The Blues team (New Zealand) has 14 All Blacks in it. The brumbies has 13 Wallabies in it. With that kind of fire-power they could clean up any northern hemisphere six nations team. The six nations rugby teams are hardly in Brazil League when it comes to Rugby , and Manchester United does not normally provide up to 9 players for the England side!:D

ok where?
Olympic Stadium Maadi @ 7pm Tuesdays evenings for the 15's training just ask for Pete the coach. If you prefer the 7 a side touch it's 9am Fridays at NCBIS new Cairo. Both venues take all comers, all ages ( over 18) and all abilities, it's very social and there is a wide variety of nationalities. If you want further details check out Cairo Rugby on facebook as their website is being updated at present.

errr my point exactly. A "club" team that plays together week in week out are likely to beat a "part-time" National Team.

A team of regulars can often beat a team of "egocentric stars":eyebrows: Teamwork rather than individual brilliance.

By the way I'm sure the Southern boys are the best by far

errr ,but then we have to compare apples with apples, not pears, rugby club team are like Saracens, Leinster, Ospreys, London Irish etc, not a Manchester United soccer team. And then, with all due respect, they have about a snowballs change of beating any super 15 team on the bottom of the super 15 log, and any of the top super 15 teams could pull one off against any 6 nations rugby team. Has never happened, but that was my point, as a rugby fan I would love to see that happen, and there are many guys like me who would love to see such a game.:D

You ate right the Irish teams played very well and peaked at he right time - Munster were in with a shout as well - Only 1 English team made it out if the pool stage not good enough at all.

My team Gloucester have a had a melt down in the last few weeks loosing much too often - got beat 52 - 18 yesterday by London Irish
So you are right in so many ways :-(((
