For any of you who haven't seen the Mary Beard series on Romans, here's a programme which has some info on Spain and the impact the Romans had on the country, for example the aqueduct in Segovia and the olive fields in Andalucia. If you're only interested in Spain watch

Interesting, I'll watch that later. I love Mary Beard.

The earliest Roman inscription found in Spain, the Bronce de Lascuta, was discovered near our village. It's a decree about freeing some slaves. The original is in the Louvre but our Ayuntamiento have just placed a much enlarged replica in the square. We also have a Roman water depository behind our house, which is currently in use as a plunge-pool for dogs.
