Hi all. First post here. Hoping to get some guidance.

I am an Australian who is travelling to Canada with my girlfriend in November on the WHP visa. I am hoping to pick up work for a construction/mining/EPCM company in a Contracts Administrator role as it seems I have the right experience coming from a background on large infrastructure projects here in Australia's northwest mining industry.

I am aware of the hub in Alberta, however my partner and I want to live in a large city so eyeing Toronto or Vancouver at the moment.

I have 7 years experience and a Bachelors of Applied Science in Construction Management & Economics and currently doing my Masters in Project Management. I have worked in the capacity of a Contracts Administrator/Specialist in Australia, however the same role is usually classified as a Quantity Surveyor in the UK/Middle East. My degree is also accredited by RICS which I intend on going for once I find a supervisor.

My question is how would I classify my role in Canada? It seems there are Contract Administrator roles for the larger multinational companies but I'm not sure if my search is coming up short because it may be known as something else on the most part? What is the demand like for QS's/CA's at the moment? Is the construction industry going strong in Toronto and/or Vancouver at the moment? I am assuming that going back to commercial construction will be my best bet in finding employment.

Any information is welcomed. Thank you.
