Dears,

Here is my profile:
Age: 27 (30 points)
Qualification: B.Tech Information Technology (15 points)
IT Experience: Sep 2012 - Till date (5 points) (Considering ACS will deduct 2 yrs)
PTE: 65+ (10 points)
Total: 60 points.
ANZCO code: 262112 - ICT Security Specialist

Partner points:
My wife is 26yrs old
She has 50+ in PTE
She is having B.Tech in Information technology and M.Tech in Information Technology. Working in IT from Jan 2016. So, ACS will consider her skilled only after 2 yrs . i.e Jan 2018
ANZCO code: 261313- Software Engineer

Note: We both need to yet to go for the ACS assessment

My questions:
1. Shall I wait till Jan 2018, so that my wife can go for ACS assessment and can be considered as "skilled" which will give me 5 points as partner skills. By this way, I will be at 65 points.
2. Shall I retake PTE? My current scores are L/R/S/W - 77/75/90/79. If I cross 79+ in all, I will be at 70 points(without considering partner skill). So that I cant wait till JAn 2018.
3. By the current invitation trend for ANZCO 2621, shall I get invite if I submit with 65 points in April/May 2018?

Any additional inputs and suggestion are really appreciated!

Considering you are in 262112, I would say the sooner you lodge your EOI, the sooner you will will receive ITA (atleast you will be before others who will lodge their EOI with same points you claim).

Answering your questions

1. Lodge your EOI as soon as possible and if you dont receive ITA by Jan 2018, update your EOI with partner points. You can get 65 points even now, if you apply for SS 190 EOI.

2. Yes, go ahead with the PTE attempt again to score 79+. Take time and prepare well before your next attempt.

3. By current trend I see, 262112 with 60 & DoE in Aug'17 will receive ITA by atleast April 2018.

Since you both are Yet to get an ACS assessment done, i suggest the following

1) you file for ACS right now and also book your PTE

If things dont work for you, you may then decide to take ACS route for your wife past Jan 2018.

Since your PTE scores are close to 79+, I think you have a good chance making it through

I would suggest first go ahead and do your skill assessment as now a days ACS is taking almost 5 to 6 weeks to provide results mean while you can improve your PTE score as you are very close to 79+ and its easy to achieve in your next attempt as this is the best choice to get early invitation with 70 points.

If you wait for partner points its like you need to wait for another 4 months and around 1 more month for ACS which is almost 5 months and with 65 points it takes bit long time to get invitation.

Thanks, mate! I didn't thought about 189. Will consider that as well...
