requirments for State sponsorship

Dear All,

Please suggest me on following matters regarding state sponsorship.

Do i need to attach/submit my IELTS score at the time of state sponsorship application submission or it may be submitted later?

In order to save time, may i submit both applications (i.e. at DIAC (for VISA-- 176) and at state (for Sponsorship)) at the same time?


Furthermore please guide me to the procedure that how i can show/prove my immovable assets (e.g. house, land, Gold, car etc)in terms of Australian dollars?

Hi Arshad

Yes you have to give all documents that u gave for assessment, commitment statement, asset proof, IELTS transcript, assessment proof.

You can apply for the ss first and then apply for the visa at DIAC if you have 120 points, if not then u hv to wait till u get the ss (the time they take for those who have applied already is more thn those who are yet to apply. on the website they claim it takes 30 days for fresh apps and 60 for those converting from 175 to 176)

As for the assets, they consider only transferrable assets which is only Bonds and Cash (basically whatever that can be cashed immediately-They do not consider jewelry-dunno why). you have to give them account statement for 3 months to show you have that much money in the account for a while.

ACT is the most particular about assets, they reject application if they feel you do not have enough assets, we were asked to give statements twice. Victoria and Queensland are not as particular. But then since we come form high risk zone, maybe they are being cautious. If you do not have the kind of money, you can give affidavit from say ur father (if he has it) stating he will take care of you if u r not able to manage on your own with his asset proofs.

Hi Anj,


This is tricky, i have immovable (i.e. land, house, gold etc)assets but readily do not have bank balance worth enough to show in Australian dollars:confused:.

Also if i deposit a sufficient amount in my account today i 'll require three more months to show my last three months statement that means more delay and June , 10 is a dead line:(.

Well my real brother do have worth amount but he is living in other country, may i use an affidavit from him and his bank statement?

Dear Anj,

I am planning to move to Victoria State as my skill (i.e. CISSP & Network Security 2231-79) is in demand there.

Please also guide me what is the minimum amount that i need to show in terms of Australian dollars.

Arshad, form what I have seen in the past threads, Victoria is not too particular about funds. I think the req. is 20kper applicant and 10k every dependent. check their website for exact details.

Ans: We do not require you to submit your IELTS to us.

Ans: You do not need to provide statements or proof of your financial assets, you just need to provide a true account of your total financial assets that you are bringing to Victoria.

Guide me.

Arshad,
both the replies are fine.. I dont know how you show assets. Best is to get an affidavit made with details of all assets that you have like cash in bank, bonds etc etc.

Arshad, Victoria isnt as particular about assets as ACT is, we had to show them statements twice as they had put IT applications on hold for some reason, so there was a 6 months gap between applying and the grant. Incase they do ask for statements, you should have that much money to prove. dont assume, keep a backup.

Hello Anj,
I am in the same boat as in Arshad, i am IT professional and want to get Vic SS.
The concern is the financial statements, my father sponsoring me and they have some fixed assets and i have my car and little bank account, so should i mention all the financial and fixed assets in affidavit or just the cash i have? and if i mention in the affidavit about my father sponsoring, then?

faisal, they are very particular about money you take with you. they do not consider fixed asset as transferrable. u can get an affidavti made from your father's side stating he has XYZZ funds and he is willing to fund you if you are not able to manage on your own. along with that mention all his funds, bonds, shares, cash etc. i know a few who have managed tht way but the amount was what they asked for. i doubt they would be happy to see a figure less than what they want.

i too was confused when u wrote u will apply immediately along with ss. as last i remember we were discussing how u shud show ur assets. anyways, dont waste time, apply for ss at the earliest.

Hi Anj and Others,

I would like to get an idea of what an Affidavit should contain for state sponsorship. I have a enough bank balance in INR which fals around AUD 10k but I dont have any property in my name so I am thinking of getting a affidavit by using my Father's asset as a evidence.

May be a sample format of sample Affidavit could help me and others, becuase I believe so many people would be looking forward to aplpy for the state sponsorship and this may be helpful for others to get an idea about that.

Bonds....... (comapny name)
Shares...... (company name and worth)

Further mention you can provide proofs if need be.

As for showing finds from your fathers side, teh same can be done, but he has to mention below are my assets in INR and $$, and that I am willing to fund my son if he is not able to manage on his own.

If you go to notary, he will draft it for u
