A friend of mine needs some advice on getting a replacement UK citizenship / naturalisation certificate.

My friend got citizenship in 1999 (in the UK).

He has misplaced his certificate and now requires a new one. Can someone please advise on the process and documents required. Is a solicitor required or can one apply themselves?

Thanks in advance

We have seen the form to complete. But someone informed him he needs a "police report" to accompany the form. Although this is not stated on the gov website.

I applied for a replacement certificate in February. Fill the form which u download online and send it to the Liverpool address. You dont need a police clearance. Mine came out after a week.
