Renewing a PR

Hi can someone let me know whats the process to renew an existing PR while we are in Australia.My husband's PR is expiring in Sept 2013 and he has been in Aus for the last 07 months only.What does he need to do to renew the same and for how long wil her get it?

Check the DIAC page on RRV because it is granted depending on your period of stay in Australia
