Hi all,

I am living in France with an Irish passport, and my husband has a British passport with a Carte de Sejour based on his marriage to me. The Carte de Sejour needs to be renewed next year. Can anyone tell me about their experience of this specific situation- renewing the Carte de Sejour of a European Spouse - and/or point me to best links on this subject? We are now tax payers in France and have the Carte Vitale as well. We are in the Dordogne region.

Thanks as always, kind regards

As I understand it, the carte de séjour that someone gets as the spouse of an EU national living in France is basically tied to the residence of the EU national in the family. To renew that carte de séjour, they are mostly interested in seeing that the circumstances that brought the EU national to France in the first place are still relevant.

Your best source for information on renewing your husband's carte de séjour is on Service Public:
(I've set this up with the automatic English translation, but you can review the original French using the language button in the upper right area of the page.)

The last item on the list is for "How to renew a European family member's residence card."
