Hi folks,

I'll be applying for a student visa to the UK in July, for a course starting in September. However prior to that I will be visiting the UK as a tourist for two weeks in late June/early July, then flying home to start the visa application. This is basically because I already had travel booked for that period, but want to avoid any hassle at the border about my having a student visa in my passport already though only wanting to enter as tourist at that time.

But when I start the application, I will have just returned from the UK a few days beforehand, which they'll presumably see in my passport. Will this matter in any way? Does it look suspicious for some reason? I don't know how the mind of a visa processor works. :)

Thanks for any advice!

No don't worry about it. You have sponsorship details for Tier 4 visa which is quite different from visit visa/leave.
