Hi guys,

I just wanted to ask a couple of questions about recruiters -

1} What function do they perform ? Are they useful ?

2} Do we have pay them fees ? If so, when do we have to pay them fees - is it at the time of registration ?

3} Has anyone in IT successfully used the recruiters or is it better to use seek and other such websites

Thank you

Recruiters generally assist companies find candidates, not the other way around. So you don't simply contact them and wait for them to find you a job. However, they can be useful to develop a relationship with so they can more readily match you with positions they may be working on.

You don't pay recruiters, the companies that engage them do that.

Even if you register with dozens of recruiters, you should still use Seek and other websites to do your own job search. You'll likely find that many posted positions are through recruiters so that's one way of getting your CV in front of them.
