Hello,
I have a question that may be kind of stupid. I'm in the process of applying for the Tier 5 YMS Visa and i'm about to pay the IHS.

I've tried to read up a bit in regards to what this covers and what it doesn't. Am I correct in assuming that if an accident were to happen and i'd be hospitalized, i'd be covered? I'm just a tad confused as to what is and isn't covered by the IHS. Would I still need a private insurance to cover prescriptions, dental work, etc?

Let me know if anyone can help!
Thanks!

You're treated like any other UK resident once you've paid for NHS. This does include free hospital treatment/primary care/primary dental care. Prescriptions have a charge of about £8 each if I recall correctly

Dental work isnt really covered. There are NHS dentists, which are cheaper than private ones, but they do charge. Prescription charges are £8.20, but seem to go up everytime I get one lol If you're pregnant or an OAP, then they're all free

Visits to GPs, hospitals, consultants.... are free at point of use tho
