I'm a us citizen, are there any countries in europe that I can't go freely in and out of on my US passport.. reading these schenegen questions has made me wonder actually as we are geting ready to book another vacation..

I'm us citizen married to a british citizen, I currently reside in the UK. I'm assuming I have free access to most countries.

Basically you are bound by Schengen rule of 90-in-180 days in the whole of the Schengen zone, not individual countries without a visa. So if you spend a month in Italy followed by 2 months in France, you can't then go to Spain for further stay but must leave Schengen and stay away for 90 days before you can return to Schengen again. Non-Schengen states have their own rules, and it's usually 3 months visa-free stay, such as Ireland, Ukraine, Croatia, Bulgaria etc. I presume you have spouse visa for UK, otherwise it's 6 months.
