Hello:
After My wife and two children moved to the UK on Spouse visa, I applied for housing benefits and got £60 a week. but the claim is joint one, with wife name on the application.

I declared everything honestly and sent her passport with the visa showing no entitlement for public benefits on her passport. but still not sure how this may affect her status when we apply for Indefinite leave to remain?

I also get child tax credit and it is a joint claim as well.

Are we running into troubles with her name on the joint claims Please advise

What it means is when a joint benefit claim is made, the applicant has to state that the partner/spouse is subject to immigration control with no recourse to public funds. They will then process your application accordingly.

Thank you all very much for the reply.
Thank you for the link as well, it states in clear words that the person under immigraion control can have his name on a claim made by his British partner but can not make the claim himself.

Five stars to ALL :)
