would an online assessment be sufficient for a property inspection report?

i contacted a private surveyor and they guaranteed an online assessment would be fine, and we don't actually need someone to come round the house and inspect the house.

anyone can confirm this?

thanks!

I have never heard of an online assessment before.

How will they check the environmental state of the house if it's done online?

yea that's what i'm thinking too but they guarantee it will be sufficient for a fiance visa application.

this is what they replied with :

Thank you for your enquiry.

I confirm that we are independent Architectural Surveying Practice; as such we are qualified and approved by the Home Office and UK Border Agency to produce the accommodation reports.

Our reports run to 3-4pages in length and we have been producing accommodation reports for solicitors and local authorities since 2006.

Our detailed immigration accommodation report includes a detailed property description, room sizes and details on the
Sponsor and Applicant. We assess the property under the Housing Act 1989 and Housing Act 2004: for statutory overcrowding and HHSRS
category 1-2 hazards.

We offer the complete assessment from our office, the price is £60.

We'll need the following from you:

- Full Address of the property
- Type of property (Semi/Terraced/Detached?)
- Full name and DOB of Sponsor
- Full name of the person coming over, DOB and which country they're
coming from?
- Is the house owned/rented, do you have a tenancy agreement? If owned,
who by?
· List of rooms on the ground floor and rough measurements
· List of rooms on the first floor and rough measurements

- Names and DOB's of people staying at the property

otherwise, they charge 280 pounds for a full building survey. it'd be helpful if anyone can recommend a private surveyor around that serves peacehaven.

thanks!

That is really odd as they came out to the house and did a thorough inspection..

It's best to try a local firm, they're usually cheaper.

I paid around £60-£80.
