Hi,

I am applying for a UK spouse visa and have written a supporting letter for my application. I don´t know if its good or not, or maybe has too many details. I have taken out personal information. I have put the exact dates in the actual letter (removed them here) for specfic things like when we met, arrived in countries? Is that worth it?

It is my first draft so would really appreciate some help, as I haven´t written anything like this before. My husband taught English in Brazil, I studied/worked, should I mention these things?

Dear Sir/Madam,
I am writing this letter to support my UK visa application, explaining how my relationship with my husband INSERT NAME developed.

I first met SPONSOR in person on EXACT DATE 2015 while I was living in CITY, UK during my PhD internship at EMPLOYER. We began meeting each other more regularly and soon started a relationship. We kept in regular contact during the remaining time I had left in CITY, before my flight back to Brazil on EXACT DATE, 2016. During my time in UK we had trips together, including trips to London, Barcelona and Paris. I have attached evidence of those trips such as photos, flight tickets, past Facebook messenger conversations.
After I came back to Brazil, we maintained a regular contact via daily video calls and online messages through the use of Facebook and WhatsApp. SPONSOR came to Brazil to visit me in September, 2016. From EXACT DATES of September 2016, we went to Rio de Janeiro-RJ, Paraty-RJ, Foz do Iguaçu-PR and São Paulo-SP. I have attached evidence of those trips such as photos, flight tickets, past Facebook messenger conversations.
We planned to see each other again in Mexico in January 2017. My flight arrived on EXACT DATE January 2017, and for 18 days we stayed together in Mexico City, Cancun, Merida and Havana in Cuba. We kept in a daily contact for the next 3 months, before we saw each other again on EXACT DATE 2017 in CITY, Brazil. One day after Sponsors arrival, we went to a friend’s wedding, and I could introduce him to a group of friends there. I have a supporting letter from these friends, NAMES. After the wedding, we then moved to CITY, Brazil.
My parents travelled from CITY ,BRAZIL to meet SPONSOR in person for the first time. We lived together in CITY until EXACT date, 2019. We lived in a friend’s apartment, I have attached a letter from her confirming this, along with evidence of her ownership. During this period living together, our relationship grew stronger as SPONSOR began to make friends and got to know my family. We spent some holidays at my family’s place CITY, had a weekend trip to CITY, BRAZIL, and a trip to Uruguay (from EXACT DATES).
We decided to get married in my hometown, CITY, Brazil, on EXACT DATE 2018, I have attached the marriage certificate. On EXACT DATES 2019 I flew to the UK so I could finally meet SPONSOR´S family in person. After spending some days at SPONSORS parents in CITY UK until EXACT DATES 2019 we both then went to Portugal (EXACT DATE 2019) before coming back to Brazil.
At this point we decided to begin planning to try to live in the UK, as it was difficult for SPONSOR to adjust to the drastic change in lifestyle in Brazil when compared to the UK. He was struggling with the Portuguese and that was making it hard for him to find good career opportunities in Brazil. My good level of English and PhD could make it easier for me to find a job in the UK and SPONSOR also has good conditions to fully support and accommodate me during my stay in the UK.
SPONSOR went back to UK on EXACT date 2019, and on EXACT DATE in 2019 he started working permanently at EMPLOYER. He came to visit me in Brazil (EXACT DATES 2019), during which we spent between CITY BRAZIL, my family’s house in CITY and CITY. We had a plan for me to fly to the UK on EXACT DATES 2020 as I had bought flight tickets. However, due to COVID-19, my flight was cancelled. We then kept in daily contact through messages and video chats for 7 months until I could finally fly to the UK on EXACT DATES, 2020 for a visit until September 2020.
I have provided documents such as copies of passport stamps, flight tickets, photos, as well as evidence of communication between myself and my husband to support my application and evidence of us maintaining our relationship in person and from distance. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you require additional documents or information.

Yours Sincerely,

I think that you have written a good letter, and it would help to provide as much evidence as possible, especially from during this most recent visit. Could you also talk about your future plans, and do you have any have any evidence of financial support, such as bank transfers or payment for tickets?
I found this very good article online that may help:

Thanks for the feedback. We just think its maybe a little long. That website is useful.

One other question, in terms of referencing for the evidence we have provided, do I need to keep saying 'this is evidenced in the form of passport stamps, facebook chat logs etc etc' or 'see file section x' after each thing I say?

Is it ok to just put one line at the top or bottom saying we have provided evidence of what we have said throughout the lette

Thanks

I didn’t read it. It’s way too long. Say how you met, highlight a few meetings, point out some things you have in common and suggest a few plans for the future.

Way too long. I agree with Nyclon. You don't need to list every visit or what you did together.

One day after Sponsors arrival, we went to a friend’s wedding, and I could introduce him to a group of friends there. I have a supporting letter from these friends, NAMES.
Don't supply letters from friends. This kind of stuff is totally unnecessary, they won't read it and it will only clutter your application.

Thanks for the feedback.

Yeah I will cut those unnecessary things out.

Is it ok to reference all the things at the end of the letter and do I need to keep saying I have evidence after each point I make?

Do you know how many photos and facebook messenger chat logs are recommended to upload?

Thanks again

You don't need to point out the evidence you're providing, they'll find it. 10-15 photos, and 10-15 pages (at very maximum) of chat evidence should be fine. Spread them evenly throughout the course of your relationship
