Hello!

I am applying for a vistor's visa in France. I am living with a host family (I don't have a deed/rent), so I was planning on having the family sign a note saying that they are hosting me for the Proof of Accommodation section of the application. Does this need to be notarized? I am in Paris right now, but I am leaving in a few days to get the visa done in the US, so if I need it notarized, I'll need to make sure that gets done very quickly (hence it being urgent).

Thank you!!

It won't need to be notarized - but you should get a copy of the head of the family's i.d. (either French carte d'identité or carte de séjour - both sides) plus some document showing that they are renting at or own the address where you'll be staying.
Cheers,
Bev
