Hi all

Our plans to relocate to the Costa del Sol are coming along nicely.

One little possible hic-cup... Do we need our medical records to purchase health care in Spain?

Our medical records whilst living in Australia for 13 years basically amount to minor ailments, and the usual "women's" check ups but thats about it. We are not on any medications, although my husband did have a hip replacement 7 years ago.

Your comments would be greatly appreciated as we obviously need to make sure we have all relevant paperwork before we arrive in Spain

have a great day everyone

You certainly won't need your medical records to get Private Health Care.

It might, however, be useful to get them summarised just in case they are needed in the future.
Thanks for your response, Ill have a go at trying to find our records...
Have a great day

I wouldn't worry too much about it if you can't get a hold of them. I've never once been asked for medical records here, not by doctors in state healthcare, nor private doctors, nor any type of insurance company (including health insurance).

Thanks for that, puts my mind at rest, quite a task getting them from Australia :(
