What are your plans? If you find an employer willing to hire (and sponsor) you, the 457 (temporary work) visa is always an option. If you plan to stay in Academia (e.g. for a post-doc), then a Training and Research visa (subclass 402) might be a goof fit. Finally, if you are qualified to practise as a lawyer/solicitor then you may also qualify for a skilled migration visa (189/190/489) - which would allow you to stay permanently - but this requires you to pass a points test and get assessed by the legal admission authority of the state you want to settle in (e.g. in NSW the LPAB).... only available to students who applied for, and were granted, their first student visa to Australia on or after 5 November 2011.
