Me and my family is about to move to sydney... what is the best place in sydney which is more family oriented and close to the CBD? By the way my son is 4 years old and I want a good environment for him...

Is it advisable to arrange for housing before I arrive there? If yes, how do I do that?

I can't advise you about the areas you should be looking at, but yes, it is advisable to arrange short term accommodation for the first few weeks before you arrive. This will give you time to look around and select an area where you wish to move.

There are loads of websites that specialise in short term accommodation. Just do a google search and you'll find plenty of options come up. You can then choose those that are within your budget and contact the owners or book online.

For long term accommodation, you have to view the property before you can submit an application and you will find that pictures are oftentimes deceptive. It's not uncommon for agents to use rather old pictures with their adverts.

Whilst you may get a few recommendations in terms of areas to live in, do take the time to have a look round and make sure that these areas work for you. Your place of work, proximity to transport and amenities and childcare facilities will often play a big role in where you choose to settle.
