Hello
I am planning to apply for skill assessment for Agricultural scientist - 234112. there are two things I am not so sure about, as the VETASSESS has changed their rules regarding considering Phd as work experience, I am not sure if my Phd would be considered as work experience or not..
I will really appreciate if anyone who has recently got a skill assessment or has more information on this can help.
Here is my education and employment details
Bsc (2004-2007)- Biotechnology, chemistry and genetics
Ms (2008-2009) - Bioscience( human genetics)
Phd ( 2009- 2014) - biology ( plant molecular biology ) - Full time research -
scholarship covering tuition fee and maintenance allowance. My support letter from my PhD supervisor mentions these details and also states that i had a work contract of 35 hr a week. I did not pay tax on this income, as a proof of employment i can attach my bank statement where I am paid this amount monthly by the university.I also did paid teaching during this time.
employment
postdoc outside australia - improving plant response to plant pathogens (2 march 2015 - 31st dec 2017)
post doc in australia - On a company sponsored fellowship to study fertiliser use efficiency in crop plants and developing methods to improve.
My questions are -
1)which of my degree will be considered as the qualifying degree for Agricultural scientist.
2) if my BSc or Ms is considered as qualifying degree, would my PhD count towards Work experience?
3) Would vetassess provide answers to these questions in the Skill assessment support service in the 30 min consultation call that costs $220 AUD.
The other option I have is to apply as life scientist.
I will really appreciate any thought and experiences people can share
