Call the police station and enquire the status. Let them know the file number, based on which they will confirm if they have processed from their end. Most likely it is stuck with them, as it is unusual for Consulate to keep this on hold.

 

Do you have anyone in india who can visit the police station?
In most cases a speed money is required

Went to the police station and spoke to plice officer. He confirmed sending a clear report but i had to submit a letter saying that i was living at my old address. Now the status on the portal says that "report is not clear and under review of embassy/consultate". I'm thinking to just wait till i get a result.

I am facing the same problem. The portal shows “ Police Verification Report is not clear and application is under review at Indian Embassy/ Consulate”. Could you let me know did you receive your PCC or what actions should I take now?

 

I did receive it a week later and it was clear.

 

Hi, I am receiving a same issue for my wife’s pcc as I could check the status that police verification is not clear and it is review at Indian embassy/ consulate. Called to vfs global helpdesk they people advised me to fill a withdraw form and send it back to them but it’s been now nearly two weeks and still status is same. I have been chasing this with them and still asked me to wait. Could you please let me know what should I do now do I need to visit vfs global directly regarding this issue ? Please assist me with this issue. Thank you

Did you receive your PCC? My wife and I applied for PCC at the same time (April 26th). Police verification is done on May 10th for both of us. She received hers a week ago, but my status is still showing as "Your application has reached at the Embassy/Consulate and is currently under review process".

I enquired with local police in India, they say when the status changes to Police Verification has been initiated... then contact them. I feel it is a bit strange my application is still with Embassy/Consulate ever after close to 4 weeks. Anyone in similar situation?

Another question, do Embassy/Consulate send all the applications back to India for verification or do they resolve some applications here itself?

Most are resolved at the local embassy level
Generally Only those who have extended stay in india are sent for police verification

I received my Indian PCC after 6 weeks. Though I haven't lived in India in the last 15 years, except visiting family, they sent my PCC to India for verification. Police verification was fast it took only 5 days.
