Hi there
I am looking to apply for permanent residency in Australia, but I dont have enough points for the skilled independent migrant category.
I have heard about the skilled regional sponsorship temporary category with prospect to apply for full residency after two years.
I want to know how successful this route would be. Has anyone got any experience of this category? I am a bit scared at the prospect of living there for 2 years and eventually having to go back home?!?

Any advice would be appreciated

Hi Sarah,

If you search through the posts there are several members that are in the process of or have done the regional sponsorship.

I think some members have applied for permanent residency fairly quickly when they get here (sorry I can't remember the details).

If you go for employee sponsorship and lose your job then you could get sent back early but I've not heard of that happening with state sponsorship.

Regards,
Karen

Hi Sarah

I personally know a few who are/were on regional sponsored. a couple of them have managed their PR without any hassles.
