Hi all,

I don't know if someone already asked this before but I am due to renew my passport soon and I am wondering if do I have to let UKBA/Home Office know that I'm going to renew or give them my new passport number perhaps?

Please can anyone let me know. Thank you! ;)

Normally you don't have to, unless there is a major change in your new passport, like your name. In which case you have to get a new BRP (if you have one) if the existing one still has more than 3 months of validity left.
If your visa is in your existing passport, and you are in work, you should get your BRP through TOC (Transfer of Conditions), as your employer needs it to verify your right to work. While visa in an expired passport can still be used for travelling internationally with your new passport, it isn't sufficient evidence of your right to work.

Yes, I have a BRP and I only just have to renew my passport without any changes to it.

Thanks very much Joppa! x
