Hi

After 4 1/2 years we finally got our visas...YIPPPPEEEee! However, it has taken over 5 months and counting to sell our property so we are planning a mercy flight to remove our deadline.

Only issue is lovely Hubby (bless him) passport blooming expires in September. Would anyone know if we have to get a new visa put in his passport or whether we could fly out and then get our landing info and get a new passport when we come back?

Looking to fly end of May as our visa expire 31 August

Any help/advice gratefully received.

It is supposed to be 6 months:
Visitors traveling to the U.S. are required to be in possession of passports that are valid for six months beyond the period of their intended stay in the U.S. For a list of countries exempt from the six month rule, see Six Month Club. (Six Month Club validity on your passport does not apply to U.S. Citizens returning to the United States.)

BUT: UK is on the list of the 'six month club', so if the passport expires in September and you want to travel in May, that is not a problem.

My wife passport expired between us landing and then moving out permanent later the next year. We brought all paperwork and the old stamped visa both passports and had no problem.
