Hi All,

I have recently received the 189 visa grant and planning to move to Australia next year. I am also planning to marry in Dec/Jan.

My question is: Can I bring my partner to Australia on visit visa and then apply the partner visa 820/801 from Australia itself. In this case, I can stay with my partner in Australia until we get the grant.

Is it possible?:confused2:

It's highly unlikely to get visitor visa without 8503-No Further Stay condition for a high risk country applicant so your partner can't apply any other visa while in Australia.

Your partner could apply 309/100 offshore first & then apply visit visa, this should work well.

Thanks Girl Aussie.

Will they raise any objection if my partner apply for visit visa multiple times till we got the grant? provided we agree to come & go again & again to satisfy the visa duration requirements.

I have seen cases on another forum, where people have successfully applied for consecutive visitor visas while they await decision for their partner visa.
